August Newsletter 2022

Didn't catch our Monthly email update from August? No worries, find all the info here! Welcome to the August edition of Monthly Updates! We've had a busy month welcoming a stack of new stockists and adding a range of masts to our compatibility list.

MEET THE FOIL DRIVE TEAM

With our whole team finally together for the first time, we took the opportunity to take some team photos so that you can put a face to a name! Keep an eye out for a new blog next month introducing everyone in our Foil Drive family and the role they play in keeping you on the water!

NEW MAST COMPATIBILITY

Last month we had a stack of new pods released, and this month is no different! There's a few pods in the list below we released last month but are now available online and an important one for Armstrong and Axis Power Carbon riders! Due to the tapered mast, we have released a specific flatwater or efoil motor pod for both the Armstrong A+ and Axis Power Carbon masts, you'll also notice a name change from Armstrong V2 to Armstrong A+ to better reflect the brands naming. Check it out:

#46 Cabrinha Fusion Carbon - Test fitted on 80cm mast

#47 Cabrinha Fusion Carbon Efoil

#48 Naish S27 Carbon

#49 Severne

#50 Cloud 9 - Alloy

#51 AK Durable Supply Co - Plasma - Carbon

STOCKIST HIGHLIGHT - WSS BOARDS

This month we'd like to introduce you to WSS Boards! Sam and the team are based in North Manly in New South Wales, Australia, and have been with us since May 2022. We asked Sam a few questions about the shop:

How long have you been involved in foiling and what do you love about the sport?

Not too sure of the timeframe but as soon as we dabbled with it back when Rush Randle and co were pushing forward with converted airchair setups on windsurfers. Super niche back then but slowly through development we got out windsurfing and SUP foiling on SUPs. The evolution and progress is what i find exciting right now. Literally something for all tastes on foils these days. For me right now it's winging and SUP Downwind Foil that floats my boat

What is the main use for Foil Drive in your area?

Locally we've seen the Foil Drive take many roles. Initially getting people foiling who might have normally struggled to foil but more lately we seeing used as an entry to downwind foiling. This side of foiling is pretty tough but very rewarding and the Foil Drive is making a great steeping stone to foil downwind.

What can people expect to find instore?

We are a multi sport water store with big ranges of kit in all sports. Windsurf, SUP, Wing, Kite and literally everything on a foil. Proud to say our staff are still mad for all of them and love getting beginners set on their journeys.

One piece of advice for new foilers or people wanting to learn to foil.

My biggest tip to newcomers to foiling is be patient and resilient. This will be the most fun you'll have on the water but it won't happen over night.
