Foil Drive Etiquette

Water etiquette is essential for creating a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone, especially in a sport like foiling that is growing so rapidly.

Respect is the foundation, acknowledging the presence of other riders, sharing the space fairly, and being mindful of everyone's experience is important to ensure we can all enjoy the water together, despite the craft.

Education plays a crucial role in building awareness about proper behavior and safety practices. By educating ourselves and others on water etiquette, we ensure that newcomers and experienced riders alike can enjoy their time on the water. When riders follow these principles, they contribute to a positive, respectful culture that benefits everyone.

At Foil Drive, being at the forefront of Foil Assist innovation, we want to use our platform to educate our community and set example for those in the water, no matter what they ride.

Foil Drive is a powerful tool that has unlocked the potential to explore new areas of the ocean that once was not accessible from traditional crafts.

No one likes a crowded surf lineup , so why compete with the rest of the masses. Not only does this mean you can enjoy unused waves, but it minimises the amount of people in a lineup, resulting in a win for everyone.

Foil Drive is a new category of Foiling. It enables the user to take advantage of a motor to get on foil and stay on foil. As a Foil Driver it comes with huge responsibility to RESPECT other people in the area. This campaign has been designed to educate Foil Drivers and other water users of how to respectively work together to enjoy the water.

No one likes being in a crowded surf lineup, regardless of what craft your on. With Foil Drive it enables you to get to places that maybe are too far to paddle, foil waves that other traditional water crafts can’t catch and downwind out to sea. There is no need to join the crowds at the local lineup where people are battling over the same waves. If you do, you need to be respectful of your wave count and getting too close to other water users.

Not one environment is the same in foiling so we have to be creative in the way we fit into the eco system. Best way to navigate this is to reach out to your local Foil Drive dealer or ambassador in the area. They will be able to inform you on places that are suitable for Foil Drive and ones that are not. There is no one solution for every spot, so we need to get creative and be mindful in our sport.

So be CREATIVE, find your own waves, your own fun and respect other water users. We have to understand that not everyone appreciates foiling and how many more waves you are catching, we also have to be mindful that some people see this new sport as very dangerous and scared to be in the same arena as it.

Education is the super power here and if we do our best to educate Foil Drivers and other water users we can harmoniously play together

ETIQUETTE BLOG

Whilst Foil Drive™ might eliminate the difficulty of getting on foil, it certainly does not eliminate your obligation to follow surf etiquette. If anything, you will need to practice this more so than before. Remember technology advancements are not the problem, how it’s used can cause people to become upset. In this section we have a few blog posts to open up the discussion and educate.
